Jaroensompong Corporation Rachathewa Landfill Gas to Energy Project, Thailand

The project developer, Jaroensompong Corporation, has installed an LFG collection system and 1MW electricity generator at the Rachathewa landfill site, near Bangkok, Thailand. Recovered LFG will be utilized as a fuel source for the generator. Any gas in excess of the amount required for power generation will be flared. The generated electricity will be sold to the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) under a power purchase agreement. GHG emissions are expected to be reduced by approximately 470,000 tCO2e over ten years through combustion of the collected methane and displacement of grid electricity produced by fossil fuel-based plants.
REGISTERED MARCH 2008.

Wastewater Treatment Using a Thermophilic Anaerobic Digestor at an Ethanol Plant in the Philippines

This project involves installation of a thermophilic anaerobic digestor with biogas collection equipment into the anaerobic lagoon wastewater treatment system at Absolute Chemicals Incorporated's ethanol production plant in Philippines. The digester will avoid methane emissions from the anaerobic lagoon and is expected to generate 95,000 CERs/year. AM0013, a Methodology produced by Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, was applied to this project. This project was REGISTERED IN OCTOBER 2006, and was only the second project to be registered from the Philippines.

MSW and Sludge Incineration for Power and Heat Generation in Shaoxing City, China

The Project involves the combustion of municipal solid waste (MSW) and sewage sludge which are currently sent to landfill where their disposal results in significant methane emissions. When complete, the Project will combust approximately 500,000 tonnes of MSW and dried sludge per year in a fluidized bed boiler. The heat from the boiler will be used to generate both thermal energy and electricity. Approximately, 266,000MWh per year of power will be supplied to the local grid, whilst over 1,180,000 GWh of thermal energy is to be provided to local industrial facilities which currently meet their thermal energy needs through coal. This Project was REGISTERED IN DECEMBER 2009.
