Alert -- Impersonation Fraud on LinkedIn

June 12, 2015

Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities

We have become aware [of the occurrence of incidents] that someone impersonating our director, officer or employee has created a false account on LinkedIn* and is trying to connect other users.

Please note that we do not offer business or employment opportunities on social networking services (SNS) including LinkedIn. If we find such an impersonation account or other relevant incidents, we will immediately request the SNS administrator to remove the relevant account and contents and take other actions.

Should you receive any message that appears to be sent by our director, officer or employee through SNS, you are recommended not to open attachments or to reply to the sender, but you should delete the message. Otherwise, there is a risk that you will be offered fraudulent business or employment opportunities or that you will get involved in a financial crime.

  • *LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site which allows users to create job profiles, offer job or business opportunities or make connections with professionals in an online network.
